Powder coating

THE POWDER COATING PROCESS

In addition to durability, powder coating is an environmentally friendly choice, as powder finishes can last up to 10 years under ideal conditions.

Powder coating protects everything from heavy-duty machinery to everyday household items. It provides a tougher, more durable finish than liquid paint, while still delivering a highly attractive look. It’s tough, it looks great, and it lasts a long time.

DURABILITY OF POWDER COATING

Powder coating is a dry finishing process that has been widely used since its introduction in the United States in the 1960s. Today, it represents over 20% of the industrial finishing market and is applied to a wide variety of products.

WHAT IS POWDER COATING

We specialize in powder coating alloy wheels and automotive parts, but we can also coat any black metal and/or aluminum parts up to 3.5 meters in length. We offer a wide range of colors (over 1,000 options), and we can even create custom shades! Multiple color applications are also possible—for example, two colors on one wheel. From basic RAL shades to candy, metallic, or wrinkle finishes, we’ve got you covered.

POWDER COATING AT VILNIUS WHEELERS

Once the wheels (or other metal parts) are prepared, they are electrically grounded and the powder is electrostatically charged. The charged powder is evenly applied to the surface and then cured. After application, the coated part is moved into an oven and baked at approximately 180 °C. The curing time depends on the mass of the part and the specific powder material used.
