Wheel restoration

RESTORATION STEPS:

INSPECTION    When wheels come in for restoration, first we do a full inspection for bends, cracks and any other aesthetic or structural imperfections. After fully inspected, all information is added to the wheel's work order. Then we can confirm detail cost of the work to the client and remark other all possible repair options.

PREPARATION    In order to refinish the wheel, first it must be stripped from the paint or/and any other contaminants using special chemicals. Afterwards it is placed in a blast or sanding cabinet with circulating plastic beads, removing the finish without removing metal. The next step in the process is wheel repair on the bended, cracked or scraped placesIf required, the wheel will be welded with a method that inserts ‘metal’ back into the areas where it is missing. Finally, the wheel is straightened to its perfect shape.

REFINISHING   Once the wheel passed mandatory processes, it's time to refinish, re-machine (CNC) or re-polish the wheel. We use wide variety of color pallets including the factory paint (OEM) finish. If the color is not present, we can match by eye or deliver a custom finish matched to the owners' specifications. Powder coating always consist of three layers that is primer, paint (color) and clear. Some parts could be finished just with powder clearcoat to reach desirable finish.

MOUNTING AND QC    Lastly each wheel is subjected to a final quality check. It's examined for run-out and the finish is checked for dirt/dust in the paint, unevenness or other flaws. If everything is immaculate, the repaired wheels are ready for tire mounting or delivery to the client.
